Well, I’ve begun teaching myself Unity in an attempt to use a more broadly applicable game engine than Pygame (what I’ve used for the past few years). I took some time to review a few tutorials and buff up my knowledge of C# (never coded in that before, although I have passable knowledge in C++ and Java), and after a couple tutorials I used some free assets from one of the tutorials to re-create the classic arcade game, Asteroids. You can download the game here.
There are a few differences here and there from the original game, but I was primarily using this as a stepping stool to begin creating my own games, which I’ll begin to now as I search for assets to use for my games. Gonna be a wild ride!
